Thanks so much if you popped by the studio on Saturday for yoga classes, New Years Meditation and our 2nd Pop Up Yoga Shop! The whole day was such an amazing way to start to the year, complete with gifts of Purslane, a superfood dismissed as a weed. In our previous blog post we talk all about the benefits of this healthy green! The two weekly Saturday yoga classes were both packed at 7am with Dr. Kecia Lowe and 10am with Ferron. We had our consistent yoga students along with lots of new faces! From the buzz after class we could tell that everyone left feeling renewed and excited to be starting 2018 on the right foot.

It was the first Saturday of the year so we hosted a New Year meditation at midday. Malaika guided participants through an hour long session to cultivate compassion for self and others, invite in prana (life energy) through breathing and balance our centers of energy so that we can take on the new year from a more centered place.

The Pop Up Yoga Shop ran throughout the morning. Besides offering yoga clothes and props to get you outfitted for 2018, we had the pleasure of hosting incredible creators making everything from textiles to natural body products, aromatherapy candles to yoga-inspired jewelry.

We had Marcella and her natural soy candles Renee's Scentsationz. Ferron gave his daughter's these candles as gifts and they light them all the time because of how good they smell! Sheba aka Grenada Soul Adventurer was also there with her all-natural whipped Cocoa Butter - made with Grenadian cocoa butter, coconut oil and love. Perfect for use on skin and hair, bonus it smells like chocolate. Tedicah sold her beautiful malas and necklaces from her line  Be-jewelled by Tedicah. Last but certainly not least, Xandra, long-time yogi and Spice Harmony regular, sold her beautiful textile pieces - mat bags, shawls, eye pillows and more. It was amazing to see all of these women sharing their thoughtfully made products with the Spice Harmony Yoga community.

See you next time!
